Analog TV… A thing of the past?
Digital television is a new television signal technology that allows all consumers to get a much better picture, higher sound quality, and better programming options. Digital television technology first began begin broadcasts in the mid 1990s and had grown greatly since then. Digital television signals have began slow replacing old analog signals (nearly a wave of the past) and will completely replace them in the near future with the DTV transition. Digital television had been an option for about 10 years and will soon become a requirement. After the transition consumers will need a digital tv or a digital TV converter to use their TV. Digital television uses significantly less spectrum than analog signals and will open up airwaves for emergency services.
